Artist Bio:

Imicus After a two year hiatus, Imicus return to the fold in sensational style with a brand new single entitled ‘The Libertine’. Developing and solidifying a sound that draws together hook laden choruses and engaging riffs with thoughtful dynamics, Imicus are back stronger than ever, and with a new album poised for release next year, there is nothing stopping the band this time around.

Hailing from Luton, Imicus dropped their debut album ‘Animal Factory’ in 2010 through Transcend Records. It picked up widespread critical acclaim with Scuzz TV, BBC Radio 1, XFM and Totalrock, all of whom played tracks from the record; and the band were also asked by Metal Hammer to record a version of 'You Don't Have To Be Old To Be Wise' for a Judas Priest cover CD, which was given away with one of their issues. The melodic metallers also served their time on the road and relentlessly toured, playing with the likes of Enter Shikari, Skindred, InMe, SiKth, Ill Nino, Panic Cell, Reuben, Breed 77, The Deathstars, Exit Ten, Devil Sold His Soul, Orange Goblin, and many more; Imicus have also played a string of prominent festivals including Download, Bloodstock, Hammerfest, Hard Rock Hell and Bulldog Bash.

The original line up of Imicus disbanded in 2012 and the second incarnation of the band came to fruition at the start of 2013 when co-founder and front-man Miller decided to continue and re-invent the band. The newly reformed quintet have certainly delivered; the new material is a real statement of intent and defines the progression in the band’s writing and the new attitude featured on the forthcoming album. Under the expert supervision of Russ Russell, the new tracks showcase Imicus’ signature hooks and choruses while still maintaining dense instrumentation and enticing atmospherics. Whilst the material has continued to develop and promises to launch the riff monsters into the consciousness of new audiences, the band’s sound is still both melodic and heavy and is sure to appease original fans who revelled in their debut.
